Judy Carol Richardson peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Woodard Retirement Village in Goldsboro, N C.
Judy’s journey began in Goldsboro, N C.:
Born on June 13, 1953 to the late Ernestine Richardson.
After the death of her mother, her grandmother, Annie Cox continued to raise Judy, along with her baby brother Rickey and cousin Shirley. When Grandma Annie died, Judy, Rickey, and Shirley moved in with their uncle and aunt, Earl “Bay” and Mary Lois Richardson, who also shared in the nurturing and raising of Judy.
Judy was educated in the Wayne County Public Schools.
Judy was employed with Borden Manufacturer Cotton Mill and as a house keeper for a local hotel.
Realizing that she needed a closer walk with God, Judy began to develop a sincere relationship with her personal Savior by deepening her knowledge of God’s word through her personal bible study, her listening to the Word of God through different television and radio evangelists, attending different Worship Services and Bible Studies throughout the city of Goldsboro, N C. Judy had a deep love for gospel music. Not only did she attend many gospel concerts, but there was also not a time you walked in Judy’s house that you didn’t hear the gospel station 730am on the radio “loud and clear.”
Judy was “FOOD FRIENDLY … (she really enjoyed eating, especially going out to eat with her two brothers.) She was “CAR FRIENDLY” … (even though Judy’s walking had slowed down; her desire and readiness to go riding was on point.) She is the adored mother of two children. AND OH HOW SHE REALLY REALLY LOVED THEM BOTH!!!
Judy had a SMILE that brought smiles to others. Judy loved and adored her family. She was known for WALKING and TALKING on the phone.
Though physically departed, her presence will forever be remembered. She leaves behind her love, cherished moments, encouragement, strength, and commitment that we will all continue to share in her honor.
Judy’s memories will be celebrated and cherished forever by her two children Latrice Richardson Wright and Rico Devon (Wandra) Richardson of Atlanta, GA; one grandson Daquan Thomas of Atlanta, GA; two granddaughters Tyanni Wright and Kailah Wright of Atlanta, GA; two brothers Minister Levern (Brenda) Richardson of Wendell, NC; Rickey Richardson Sr. of Goldsboro, NC; one nephew Rickey Richardson Jr. of Durham, NC; special cousin/sister at Heart Shirley “Tutty” Vick of Dudley, NC; several cousins, other relatives and friends.
