Shai Taylor Valentine was born on February 7, 1955 to the union of Tomika Raquel Valentine and Lewis Valentine Jr. He departed this life on Friday, October 28, 2016. Shai was a very loving son, who loved his family and life. He graduated from Wayne Community College. He had a great love for anyone that knew him. He had a humble spirit yet at times was quite outspoken. He was a good friend, son, and nephew.

Shai was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Georgia Valentine; great grandmothers Lessie May McNair and Mary Johnson; grandfather Sunver Worrell; great grandfathers Henry McNair and James Earl Flowers; great great grandfather  Kennon Worrell, and great grandmother Minnie Best Fennel.

He leaves behind his precious daughters Kailin, Envie and India; his brothers Tahji (Sharieka), Michael, Cardiay, Bilal, Jordan and Raven; two sisters Tory and Shardai; a host of aunts and uncles from Illinois, Missouri, Georgia, and North Carolina; his paternal grandfather Lewis Valentine Sr. and maternal grandfather George McNair; maternal grandmother Vickie Ann Worrell; great grandmother Pauline Flowers; special cousins, other relatives and special  friend Shameka Harrison.
