Catherine Coley Taylor

Mrs. Catherine Coley Taylor was born on March 8, 1933 in Wayne County, North Carolina to the late Milford Coley and Flossie Lewis.

She attended Wayne County Public Schools. She was employed by Wayne Memorial Hospital where she retired after 33 years.

She joined Central Heights FWB Church in the early 1960’s and served until her health began to decline.

She was preceded in death by her sister Vistoria Whitfield, her brothers Allen Coley and Phillip Coley and her husband of 60 years Merritt L. Taylor of whom three children were born. One daughter Gloria Williams of Goldsboro, NC; two sons Ronnith Taylor (Lois) of Raleigh, NC and Larry Taylor (Carolyn) of Fayetteville, NC.

She leaves to cherish her memories four sisters in law Ann Coley, Willie Mae Hicks, Emma Jean Taylor, and Patsy Forster; one brother in law Joseph Rouse.

Her legacy will be carried on by her seven grandchildren Deebea Rowe (Desmond), Dendrea Smith, Dewey Williams (Demetrice), Eric Taylor (Kim), Aaron Taylor, Stephanie Taylor, and Tamika Perry (Ernest), Denise Moore, and Seyei Gurganious; seven great grands, two great great grands and two on the way.
