Hugh Victor Jacobs was born on March 13, 1951 in Goldsboro, NC to the late Hugh Loron Jacobs and Lila Barnes Jacobs and transitioned on Tuesday, January 15, 2019. Hugh was the third of nine children.
Hugh was a 1969 graduate of Dillard High School. He graduated in 1976 from Wayne Community College with an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering earning a 3.94 GPA.
He was affectionately called “Bug” by his family.
Hugh was a United States Navy veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal. He retired as an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor from Duke Energy. He was an astute entrepreneur and real estate investor. Owning and operating Hugh’s Lawn Service, a commercial and residential lawn maintenance company and Mallard Creek Classic Import car dealership. Hugh’s life passion was classic and luxury automobiles.
On March 30, 1991 Hugh and the lovely June Natalie Thompson married. One of their greatest joys was riding their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle.
Hugh cherished his Doberman Pinchers, Charmin and Jacobs Favorite Chandler. Not really a cat person, he eventually fell in love with Bundini, better known as BooBoo Dini, his wife’s cat.
Hugh was preceded in death by his beautiful and devoted wife, June Natalie Jacobs; parents Hugh and Lila Jacobs; two brothers Ralph Barnes, Sr. and Apostle Dennis R. Jacobs and two sisters Rose Mary Sherard and Brenda Kaye Reid.
Hugh leaves to cherish his precious memories two sisters Sallie Lewis and Linda Bowman (Marvin) of Goldsboro, NC. Two bothers Chester Jacobs (Oreta) of San Diego, CA and Michael Jacobs of Goldsboro, NC. Two sisters-in-law Betty Ruth Barnes of Dudley, NC and Apostle Ravonda S. Jacobs of Goldsboro, NC. Two brothers-in-law Rudy Sherard Jr. and Wiley Reid of Goldsboro, NC. Mother-In-Law, Avis Thompson. Special friend, Morris McClenny (Darlene) of Charlotte, NC.
