On December 12, 1951, Rev. John Wesley Williams, Sr. and Mother Mary Austin Williams gave birth to Joyce Ray, their fourth of ten children. Joyce attended Wayne County Public Schools and she graduated from Wayne Community College Adult High School. Joyce worked as a health care aid until her health declined.
She was preceded in death by her parents , two brothers John Wesley Williams, Jr. and Anthony Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters Sabrina Williams, Shalawn Peele, Jannine Vann (Lemanyelle) of Goldsboro, NC and Keisha Smith of Goldsboro, NC; three sons Malcolm Williams (Marlene) of Raleigh, NC, Gary Williams and Daryl Williams of Goldsboro, NC; three sisters Evangelist Sarah Peele (George), Evelyn Coley (Foy) and Ella Howell (Charles) ; four brothers Nelson Williams, Terry Williams (Teresa), Rev. Marshall Williams (Jackie) and Elder Lamont Williams (Jackie) of Philadelphia, PA ; three sisters in law Arabella Younger Williams, Angela Williams and Rematha Williams; twenty—two grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
