Lisa Carol (Simmons) Young

Lisa Carol Young was born February 28, 1963 to the late Carvester Simmons Sr. and Mary E Simmons. She departed this earthly life to ascend to glory on June 7th, 2018.

On October 15, 1983 she was united in marriage to Victor J. Young Sr. From this union two beautiful children were born.

Lisa grew up in Mt. Olive, NC and began her formal education in the Wayne County Public School System. She graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1981 and continued her education at East Carolina University and Wayne Community College. For several years she was employed by O' Berry Center in Goldsboro, NC until she pursued her dream of becoming a Daycare Provider. She established Mrs. Lisa's Home Daycare  in September 1996 where she provided lots of Love, Affection and Education to so many children in the community and surrounding areas. For most of her adult life she was a member of Deeper Life Church Ministries where she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and remained a devoted and faithful servant until her health began to decline. Although she could not attend church on a regular, her faith never failed!

A family person, Lisa enjoyed spending time with her family! She loved sharing holidays and vacationing with her loved ones! She also enjoyed decorating, shopping and cleaning. Whatever she strived to do,you best believe she put her all into it.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to a devoted husband of 34 years, Victor J. Young Sr of the home; two very faithful children Victor ( Latreesha ) Young Jr. and LaAsha C. Young of Goldsboro, NC; two sisters; Shirley ( Chester ) Cox of Goldsboro, NC; and Neisy Croom of La Grange, NC; six brothers Carvester (Debrita ) Simmons; Larry Simmons; Harry ( Connie ) Simmons; Gregory Simmons of Goldsboro, NC; Danny Ray Simmons of Raleigh, NC; and Preston Simmons of San Diego, Ca. six grandchildren Jaydon Young, Joshua Young, Victoria Young, Vaniya Young, Tristan McIntyre and Luther Jones III;  three aunt's; Dorothy (Joseph ) King; Minnie Carpenter of Manhasset, NY; and Barbara Agard of Corona, NY; one uncle Charles Williams of Mt. Olive ,NC; one sister-in-law Mildred (Samuel ) Cunningham of Atlanta, Ga.; special friends Jacqueline Smith, Annie Battle, and Aloha Artis; a host of nieces,nephews and cousins.
