Allen Woodrow Mervin (Booga) was born September 7th, 1940 to the late Henry Clay Mervin and Essie B. Mervin. He departed this life on July 12, 2021 at the Brian Center.
He was born in Trenton NC and raised in Kinston NC. He resided in Pikeville NC for almost 60 years. He worked for Bedford Hatchery for over 30 years. He was a man of very few words but loved his garden, his adopted children and grandchildren, the Carolina Tarheels, and playing basketball.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Henry Clay and Essie B. Mervin; his four brothers James Andrew Mervin, John Quill Mervin, Clifton Earl Mervin, and Henry Clay Mervin Jr.; his one sister, Margaret Lee Mervin Wynn; and his special friend, Riney Mae Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories to his two brothers; Alton Mervin and James Howard Mervin; three sisters, Manor B. Artis, Rosa Lee Harvey and Patricia Lee Mervin Spruill; one sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth King Mervin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
