Apostle Cynthia Sawyer

Cynthia Sawyer was born on July 31,1959 into the union of Leonard Sr. and Adlene Holmes in Snow Hill, North Carolina; both preceded her in death. Cynthia attended Eastern Wayne High school in Goldsboro, NC where she Graduated in 1977. She then attended Shaw University in Raleigh, NC where she received her BSA and Graduated in May 1988.

Cynthia relocated to Chicago, IL where she became a member of Mount Calvary Will of Compassion Ministries under Archbishop Jerome Scott Jr. She served as church secretary for many years at W.O.C.M. She then met Elder Lester E. Sawyer (Apostle Lester E. Sawyer) they were united in Marriage on August 4,1990. Their union brought forth five children, two girls (Darlena & Fantasia) and three boys (Lester, George & David who preceded her in death.

She quietly transitioned into Eternal rest on Wednesday February 16, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memories: Husband Apostle Lester E. Sawyer of Goldsboro, NC Two Daughters: Darlena (Eugene) Cochran, of Goldsboro, NC Fantasia Sawyer of Highpoint, NC Two Sons: Lester Sawyer Jr. of Round Lake, IL, George (Lytasha) Sawyer of Kenosha, WI,  Two Sisters: Alice (Gene) Purdue of Columbia, MD, Phyllis (Isaiah) Devreaux of Ft. Washington, MD, Four Brothers: Mahlon (Hazel) Holmes of Greensboro, NC, Anthony (Bessie) Holmes of Greensboro, NC, Jimmy Lee Holmes of Indianapolis, IN and Dwight Holmes of Greensboro, NC. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew’s family and friends. Two special sisters in Christ Mother Juanita Scott & Pastor Edna Gant.

Those that preceded her in death one sister: Diane Holmes, Two Brothers: Elijah Ray Holmes & Leonard Holmes Jr. One Son David Sawyer.
