Callie Ann Edwards was born on July 2, 1915 in Snow Hill, NC. She went home to join Jesus on January 1, 2024 at her home, with her daughter Lorraine Edwards and two grandchildren Eric Edwards and Shancia Highsmith.
Callie’s mother, Callie Moore passed away giving birth to Callie. She was raised by her grandmother Annie Moore. She was preceded in death by her sons Jimmy Edwards and Alfred Edwards; her daughters Pearlina Daniels and Emma Michaels.
She attended school in Snow Hill, NC. Later she met her husband Absolom Edwards from Greenville, NC. They then started a family of 10 children; Pearlina Daniels, Alfred Edwards, Emma Michaels, Jimmy Edwards, Joan Beverly (Riverdale, MD), Nellia Ruffin (Wilson, NC), Thelma Edwards Barnes (Goldsboro, NC), Tiny (Gerry) Cannon (Snow Hill, NC), Lorraine Edwards (Goldsboro, NC), W.D.(Debra) Edwards and a grandson she raised, Chester Daniels (Wilson, NC), Ronnie Edwards, granddaughter she cared for, Charlene Edwards (Goldsboro, NC).
Callie enjoyed a lot of things like dressing up, cooking, and baking. She also loved to take care of her grandchildren. She loved church and tried not to miss the 2nd and 4th Sunday. She was a very sweet and kind woman. She has a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren. She is very loved and will be missed everyday.
In Our Hearts
We thought of you today but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday and days before that too.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
Now all we have are memories and your picture in a frame.
Your memories is our keepsake, with which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping.
We have you in our heart.
