Clydie Marie Langston transitioned from labor to reward on February 13, 2022 at Wayne UNC Health Care Center. Clydie was the daughter of the late John and Mary Smith. She was born in Duplin County on May 28, 1926. She received her early education with Duplin County Public Schools.
Clydie was united in holy matrimony to Charlie Samuel Langston in November of 1950. Clydie joined St. John AMEZ Church at an early age and received Jesus into her heart. She served as a Class Leader, Deaconess, and sang in the choir for many years. Clydie served in these capacities until a decline in her health. She loved going to church, studying the Bible and praying with her children. She always tried to walk in love with everyone and was a very faithful and dedicated member of St. John.
Her most favorite past times was working in her flowers, and bringing the family together to enjoy a family meal together.
Clydie Marie Langston was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Smith, her husband of 18 years Charlie Samuel Langston; three brothers John Martin Smith, Cliford Smith, and Theron Smith; one beloved sister Yvonne Perry, one son Billy Ray Langston and one grandson Samuel Devon Langston, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory Rev. Samuel (Darine) Langston, Angela Best, Wanda (James) Coley, Bernadine (Alvin) Beckett, Mary William, Annetta (Benny) James; one daughter in law April Langston; two sisters MaryLee Kornegay and Mittie Virginia Best; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
