On October 18th Dahamoney Murchison passed away at age 28. Dahamoney was preceded in
death by his beloved mother Betty Ann Mitchell-Murchison. He is survived by his two beloved
brothers Bryan Murchison and Justin Murchison, his nieces Khali Murchison and Khloe
Murchison. He is also survived by his uncles Zino Mitchell of Goldsboro, Thomas Mitchell
(Shirley) of Dudley, Raphael Mitchell (Dorothy) of Dudley and Milford Mitchell (Vicky) of
Dudley, his aunt Brenda Davis and a special cousin Kris Wilder. He also leaves behind a host of
cousins friends, and classmates; a large number of people whose lives he touched.
Dahamoney was a thoughtful and compassionate person. He made everyone he talked to feel
important. In high school, he was that person who was friends with everyone with whom he
came in contact. He was a celebrated member of the football team and loved by his teachers to
this day. Following his dream to be a firefighter, he trained at Schenck Job Corps in Brevard,
North Carolina. While in training he helped to fight wild fires in eastern North Carolina. Though
passionate about firefighting, an injury pushed him in a new direction; he trained and graduated a
union painter. Just before graduation he interviewed and was hired on the spot to be an
apprentice painter in New York City. In New York he was quick to make new friends with
coworkers, neighbors and even people he struck up conversations with on the street. Dahamoney
was an empathetic person who took time to listen to others and understand where they were
coming from. Children absolutely loved him. His friendly and charismatic personality charmed
even the most difficult people. He would argue for his position passionately, all the while
smiling and making sure he heard your perspective.
Dahamoney will be remembered for his big heart and the love he showed for others. He will be deeply missed by many.
