Eugene Bell lovely known to his family and friends as “Gene” was born on August 9, 1944 to Arteazer Bell Frazier and Roosevelt Frazier.
Gene attended Barnes Elementary School and was a graduate of Dillard High School class of 1964 where he played basketball. He lived in the Cherry Hospital community for several years and retired at Cherry Hospital as a Rehabilitation Recreation Therapist Technician for 31 years. Gene loved watching basketball, football, pro wrestling, western movies, and played adult league softball. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Doris and son Dwayne. He was a fan of the UNC Tar Heels and the Dallas Cowboys.
He departed this life on November 24, 2022. Gene was a dedicated and devoted member of Mt. Carmel Free Will Baptist Church where he served on the Trustee Board, choir, and culinary committee. He was a former member of Woods Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where he also served on the Trustee Board, president of the gospel choir, male choir, and the culinary committee.
He was united in marriage to Annie Doris B. Everett Bell, and blessed with a son Dwayne (Andrea) Everett.
His memories are most cherished by his lovely wife Doris Bell, son Dwayne (Andrea) Everett, a brother David Frazier, two sisters Joyce F. Gray and Nettie F. (Elder Eugene) Grandy, and Beverly Bell, Gwendolyn Goodman, and Thomas (Ray) Bell as his special cousins; two uncles Edward Bell and Lendell Wooten; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
