Gloria Denise Hargrove, age 58, was born on December 26, 1959 in Wayne County to the late William and Genevieve Hargrove. She departed this life on Wednesday, March 6, 2018 at Lenoir Memorial Hospital. She grew up in St. Mark Church of Christ Disciples of Christ where Bishop Alton Smith serves as pastors. In 2011 Gloria transferred her membership to New Greenleaf Church of Christ be part of a smaller church family.
Gloria was educated in Wayne County Public Schools graduating from Goldsboro High with class of 1978. After that she went on to marry her high school sweetheart Chester Gray Sr. in 1980. After she divorced she moved back to North Carolina where she was able to help her father in his last days.
Gloria was known by family and friends as a beautiful woman inside and out, Gloria loved fashion and went on to start her career in creating beauty makeovers. She had many talents and hobbies such as singing, decorating, and shopping.
Gloria made friends where ever she went and always being pretty and the center of the room. Her smile was bright and could light up a room instantly. Gloria was a star, she was definitely ready for Hollywood.
Gloria leaves to cherish her loving memory and precious memories to: one son Chester Earl Gray, Jr. and wife Tinesha, one sister Michelle Tyus and husband Anthony, Sr. , three brothers Williams Henry Hargrove,Jr. and wife Marla, Samuel Frederick Hargrove and wife Linda, David Howell Hargrove; two grandchildren Denise Barbara Gray and Micah Isaiah Mckeller; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
