Hubert Sutton

Hubert Sutton was born February 25, 1933 in Lenoir County, NC to the late Walter and Clara Sutton. He departed this earthly life to enter eternal peace on Sunday, November 1, 2020.

Hubert was employed by Wayne Memorial Hospital as a dedicated and loyal worker in the Dietary Services Department while also leading the hospitals’ softball team to many championships. After 25 years of shining his light he later retired.

Hubert was preceded in death by his wife Mary Simmons Sutton and his brother Elijah (Dorothy) Sutton.

Hubert leaves to cherish his memories seven daughters Elma (Steve) Moore, Tawania (Robert) Marrero, Linda Sutton, Anita  Hamilton of Goldsboro, NC, Gail (Trim) Perry of Upper Marlboro, MD, Sherry (Steve) Joyner of Clarksville, TN, and Debra Campbell of California; one son Andrey Griswold of LaGrange, NC; three sisters Verna Ruffin, Clara (Claude) Suggs, and Jean (Nathaniel) Waters of LaGrange, NC; three brothers James (Irene) Sutton of LaGrange, NC, Leroy Sutton of Washington, DC and Harold (Dorothy) Sutton of Plymouth, NC; one uncle Herman Sutton of LaGrange, NC; one godson David (Butch) Wynn of Goldsboro, NC; 20 grandchildren Kenyatta, Brian, Kamali, Dana, Gregory, Brittany, Latasha, Sheronnda, Calum, Brandalyn, Jaden, Jazmyn, Domynique, Robyn, Omar, Travanti, Taurean, Donnell, Jr., Jaden, Brittany and Kiri; 20 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
