Jackie Curtis Taylor, 64, of 105 Rollingwood Court, Dudley, NC passed away on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Genesis Health Care, in Mount Olive, NC.

He was born on September 29, 1951 to the late Gerald Carlton Taylor, Sr. and Elma Jean Moses Taylor.

Jackie was baptized and received Christ at an early age at Goldsboro Chapel FWB Church. Later he recommitted his life to Christ and joined St. Mark Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, where he remained a faithful member.

He loved attending church and loved his church family just the same. He was a member of the St. Mark Men’s Choir.

Jackie attended Goldsboro Public Schools and graduated from Dillard High School in 1969. After graduating, Jackie moved to Newark, New Jersey, where he worked various industrial jobs until returning to Goldsboro in1975. He continued working at various jobs until he became disabled.

Jackie enjoyed life, and was devoted to his family and friends, especially those he grew up and attended school with. He also attended the Senior Center.

He was preceded in death by his brother Gerald Taylor Jr.

Jackie is survived by his devoted and loving mother Elma Taylor of Dudley, NC; one sister Beverly Taylor of Atlanta, GA; one brother Donnell Taylor of Atlanta, GA.; five aunts Willie Hicks of Raleigh, NC; Patsy Foster of Alexandria, LA; Edna McFarland of Goldsboro, NC; Catherine Taylor of Goldsboro, NC and Doris Taylor of Zebulon, NC; two uncles Walter Jones of Dudley, NC and Joseph Rouse of Goldsboro, NC; one sister in law Vertie H. Taylor of Goldsboro, NC; one niece Marrissa (Tyrone) Kirk of Dallas, TX; two great nieces Asia Kirk and Zia Kirk of Dallas, TX; cousins and other relatives.
