James Arthur Robinson

James Arthur Robinson transitioned from labor to reward on February 9, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care Center.  James was the son of the late Jonnie Allen Robinson and Elnora Solice Robinson.  He was born in Wayne County, NC on October 4, 1953. He received his education with the Wayne County Public Schools. James was united in holy matrimony to Joyce D. Sutton Robinson on December 15, 1973. James joined the United States Army. He also joined Smith Chapel F.W.B. Church, where he served as an usher, along with other  church duties.  He went to Bible College in Warsaw, NC. James loved fishing, traveling to the coast or the beach when he could, watching good movies and westerns.

James leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Joyce D. Sutton Robinson of 47 years; mother-in-law Lessie M. Sutton of the home; sisters Aquilla Kaye Best (David Best),  late Glenda Robinson, Bertha “Nita” Parbey (Nii Parbey), Wanda Anthony (Sam Anthony), and Marilyn Rose (John Rose); children Taiwan Robinson, Tammy D. Thompson (Ervine M. Thompson, Jr.), Turmell Robinson (Casey Bradshaw), and Wykia Wells; grandchildren Alexis Robinson, Sonice Thompson, Hunter Robinson, Isis Thompson and Kykia Parker; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
