Jeffery Allen, affectionately known as “Jeff” by his family and friends, was born on April 9, 1967,
in Goldsboro, North Carolina, to Thelma Allen and the late Melvin Daniels.
Jeff attended Goldsboro High School, where he proudly played football and basketball. A gifted
and passionate athlete, he gave his all on and off the field. A devoted fan of the Dallas
Cowboys, Jeff never missed a chance to talk sports — with anyone, anywhere. He had a gift for
conversation and never met a stranger.
Jeff was talented, intelligent, and entrepreneurial in spirit. He spent many years being self-
employed and took great pride in his work and independence. He also worked at The House of
Raiford and Case Farms. Known for his sharp sense of style, Jeff loved to dress well and was
often seen walking confidently to wherever he needed to go — with purpose and pride.
Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Wilbert and Hazel Allen, and his
father, Melvin Daniels.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his children: three daughters —
Jennifer McDuffie, Jamequia Thompson, and Zhaniya Hudson — and two sons — Jeffrey Allen
Jr. and Ja’vyon Allen. He was a proud grandfather to Sirsean McDuffie, Zalen McDuffie, Zayden
Butler, and Kamden Butler.
Jeff is also survived by his three brothers: Rayshawn Allen, Randy Moody, and Rasheed Lewis;
and four sisters: Selena Miller, Viniski Daniels, Xavian Daniels, and Vertrice Daniels. He also
leaves behind three uncles — Jhan Allen (Gween), Randy Allen, and Larry Taylor (Deborah) —
and two aunts — Maxine Allen (Ronald) and Sherry Haywood (Robert). A host of cousins,
relatives, and friends will miss him dearly, including two special lifelong friends: Tramenda “Pig”
Best and Sonia Pridgen.
Jeffery Allen will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, loving heart, and unwavering loyalty. He
will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
