Josie L. Washington

Josie L. Washington, age 78 of Goldsboro, North Carolina passed away on January 21, 2022 at   Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Josie was born on December 7, 1943 in Jacksonville, North Carolina to Joe Frank Haley and Cora Lee Sloan.

Josie attended Dillard High School and graduated Class of 1961. She was employed at Mickey’s Pastry. She often enjoyed sewing, cosmetology and singing.

Josie was preceded in death by her husband Linwood Washington; mother Cora Lee Sloan; three children Maxine Houpe, Delmyra Bryant and Tammy Jackson; one grandson Anthony “Luell” Williams; grandparents Essie Mae Williams and Lenard Percy Williams; granddaughter Natasha Plummer.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories  three children Clifton Bryant, Jr, Letitica Bryant and Sherry (Dexter) Williams; nine grandchildren Shuketa Williams, Bryant “Marquis” Hargrove, Monty  Bryant, Gregory Plummer, Jr., Sedarrien Coley, Xavier Jackson, Earl Houpe,  Raymone Houpe and Tanesha Uzzell; twenty five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
