Justine Wellington, age 75, of 204 West Grantham Street, Goldsboro, NC departed her earthly life on Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

 

Justine was born on March 19, 1941 in Goldsboro, NC to the late Major Pearson and the late Sarah Alice “Coon” Jones.

 

Justine was affectionately called “Poo Pie” by her family and friends.

 

Poo Pie was educated in Wayne County Schools.  She worked for many years in food/custodial services for Wayne County Schools and also in janitorial at General Electric. 

 

Poo Pie was a master cook and fed everybody who came to visit her.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the loves of her life.  Poo Pie will be long remembered for her laugh and her fun and straight forward personality. 

 

When Poo Pie saw the need for Christ in her life, she joined Shackle Free Church Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Ray Williams.

 

Poo Pie was proceded in death by her parents.

 

Poo Pie leaves to cherish her precious memories her six children, Taressa Jones Roberts of Goldsboro, NC, Marshall Wellington III of Salisbury, NC, James Earl Wellington of the home, Sarah Amanda Wellington of Goldsboro, NC, Charles Ray Wellington of New England, and Jeffrey Marshall Greene of Goldsboro, NC; nine grandchildren, Corey Lamont Jones, Detawn Montrell Jones, Sheayna “Keela” Wellington, Kristina Deanne (Terrill) Bosemen, Jameson “Trell” Wellington, Ashley “Nikki” Wellington, Katrina Marshelle Wellington, Marshall Wellington IV, and Da’Shelle Wellington; ten great grandchildren, Kiara Shanel Jones, Rashad “Shawn” Bethel; Aniya Jones Monk, Kristen Denise Wellington, Aaliyah “Liyah” Wellington, Autumn Skyi Edmonds, Kailee Lenise Boseman, Kaleia Tayler Boseman, Aiden Niem Wellington, and Rilee’ Taylen Boseman; one sister, Gloria Jean Worrell of Goldsboro, NC; two aunts, Wilma Harvey and Bessie Jones both of Goldsboro, NC; one uncle, Linwood Jones of Goldsboro, NC; one niece, Gloria Jeanette Reney of Fayetteville, NC; two nephews, Kennon Lamont (Lisa) Worrell and Adrian Maurice (Selena) Worrell of Goldsboro, NC; devoted family friends, John Cabral of New England, Ra’Sheka Cobbs of Alexandria, VA, Mary “Mae Emma” Mickens, Peggy Bryant, and Cordelia Dortch, all of Goldsboro, NC and other relatives and friends.
