Kevin Taylor Obituary

Each story has a start,

and must come to an end;

Today we remember a most devoted

 husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend.

            This is the story of Kevin Donnell Taylor. Kevin was a wonderful gift to this world who was deeply loved, is missed, and who will forever be treasured. Kevin was an amazing devoted husband, a loving and dedicated father, a caring son, inspiring brother, thoughtful uncle, true friend, and devout Dallas Cowboys fan.

Kevin’s story begins on January 10, 1975 in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Born the second child to Larry and Deborah Taylor.  Kevin was raised in Goldsboro. He attended the public schools of Wayne County and graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1993.  Not long after graduation, Kevin decided to serve our nation by enlisting in the United States Navy.  During his time in the Navy he met and fell in love with Faith Simon. In March of 2001, the two were married. From this union, three children were born.

Upon leaving the Navy, Kevin worked as an Installation/Project manager for Universal Protection Security Systems, formerly known as Security Forces Incorporated (SFI) and Tech Systems Incorporated (TSI) for the past twenty years combined. He was well respected and highly sought after as a man of honor and dedication to his job.

Kevin was a man of strong faith and he maintained a deep personal relationship with God.  He had strong convictions about living the life God ordained for him and taught his children such.  He was never one to boast about his relationship with God, yet he stood as an example for many as one of Integrity, Wisdom, and Temperance.  He displayed his love for God and his family from day to day.  His trust in God’s plan for his life would often be heard when he would say, “If God is willing” when discussing various hopes and plans.

Kevin departed this life on August 1, 2019. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving, dedicated wife of eighteen years Faith, one son Kameron, twin daughters Kennedi and Kourtney, caring parents Larry and Deborah Taylor, sister Tonia Taylor, brother Keith (Latisha) Taylor, a caring mother in love Patricia Simon, sister in love Bridgette Williams and Allison (George) Rheubottom, a special uncle Isaiah Howard Jr., and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. His story here on earth may be over, but the legacy he leaves behind will live on.

Fear not, for I am with you.

Be not dismayed for I am your God.

I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you.

I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10
