Lynda Faye Coleman Best was born January 23, 1953 in Shelby, NC. She relocated to Goldsboro and became active working with children at Wages/Headstart. Lynda was creative, friendly, outgoing and never met a stranger. She had a head for business and took courses in bookkeeping and accounting.
Lynda accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1986 under the leadership of Pastor James Alston and Christian Life Church, and continued under leadership of Pastor Mickael Stephens. She was committed to sharing the Gospel and seized every opportunity to win others to Christ. Lynda was awarded the soul winner of the year award at the Oklahoma City Convention. She was a friend to many, loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all her family. Lynda united with Barnes Chapel Church in March 2023.
Lynda was preceded in death by her father Cole B. Coleman; sisters, Eulestine Jones and Judy Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband George Best of Goldsboro, NC; three sons, Darryl Cumberlander, Jamie Cumberlander and Derek Cumberlander of Goldsboro, NC; three daughters Felicia Cumberlander, Ellishea Chambers and Jeanie Best all of Goldsboro, NC; her mother, Virginia Black of Shelby, NC; brothers, James (Niecy) Coleman, Cole Coleman Jr., and Stanley Coleman of Shelby, NC; sisters, Hester Cumberlander of Shelby, NC, Janie (Hartwell) Hoey of Kernersville, NC; eighteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
