Margaret M. Jones

On February 6, 2026, Margaret Jones, affectionately known as Maxine transitioned into her eternal heavenly slumber surrounded by her family. Maxine was born on May 16, 1945 to Bertha Mae Jones-Shealy and Junius N. Shealy in Wayne County. She is survived by her daughter Yolanda Shealy and her siblings Junius “Bill” Shealy (Beulah) and Mary Ann Langston (Jimmy) all of the home. She also leaves behind 4 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and 1 great Great grandson. Tiffany (T.J, Destiny, A.J), Brittany (Zarhiana, Xavior), K- Sean\ Katia ( Aaliyah, Tatiana, K.J), Kyrie (Aubree, Josiah, Amani). She also held near and dear to her heart a special sister and son; Mary Ruth Langston & Raymond Dunn. Also left to cherish her memories are a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and loved ones. 

Maxine received her education from Goldsboro City Schools and Wayne Community College. Over the years she was employed at Howell’s, SJAFB, and WebbTown Taxi until her health began to decline. She was dedicated to her family and played a major role in raising her grandchildren. She was a member at House of Prayer in Dudley and also fellowshipped with Shackle Free Outreach Ministries. In her free time Mac enjoyed cooking, attending singings, watching reality shows and doing word searches. She was loved by many and will truly be missed.
