North Carolina native Mary Kornegay Humphrey was called to her heavenly home Friday, February 17, 2017. She was born to the late Andrew and Evangeline Kornegay. Mary received her education in the Wayne County Public School System.

She was preceded in death by both parents Andrew and Evangeline Kornegay; two sons Dana Andrew Humphrey and Derrick Earl Humphrey; two brothers Andrew Kornegay and Jerome Kornegay; one sister Geraldine Edgerton.

Mary leaves to cherish her precious memories one daughter Tarja Humphrey Thigpen (Chris); four sisters Doris Y. King (Johnnie), Carolyn Posey (Ray), Gayle K. Lee and Deborah McClean (Danny); one brother Alonzo Kornegay (Terrie); two brothers in law Howard Lee of Dudley and John Edgerton of Lewisburg; five grandchildren Nadia Walton (Jordan), Jamisha Humphrey, Tamesha Humphrey, Danrequious Bryant, Sr and Dana Humphrey Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
