Mary Joyner Sutton was born March 17, 1931 in Snow Hill, NC. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. She was one of thirteen children born to the late Ira D. and Dollie M. Joyner. Mary was a loving and faithful wife, dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and most of all friend to all that she came in contact with.

Mary was a hard working individual who was employed at the Texilease Uniform Service as a seamstress. She was a Charter member of Mt. Calvary FWB Church, where she served on the Mother Board, Women Home Mission, and Usher Board. Mary received Christ at a very young age and was faithful in her service unto the Lord.

Mary was the wife of the late Samuel Davis Sutton. They were blessed with three children Samuel (Carolyn) Sutton of Fremont, NC; Stanley Sutton of Dudley, NC and Sabrina (Dion) McDaniel of Atlanta, GA; four brothers Charlie (Laura) Joyner of Clinton, MD; Cullen (Marion) Joyner of Goldsboro, NC and Frank Joyner of Pikeville, NC; two sisters Dollie (Sylvanus) Best of Raleigh, NC and Ruby Joyner of Baltimore, MD; two sisters in law Nora Hicks and Hattie Dawson both of LaGrange, NC; seven grandchildren Joseph, Terence and Nathan Sutton, Alexis Sutton, Ilias, Trinity, and Kristin McDaniel; Godchildren Linda Simmons, Wallace and Teresa Younger and a host of nieces and nephews.
