Michael E. Smith

Michael Eugene Smith (affectionally know as ( Little Buddy)  sunrise was September 29, 1946 to Glennie and Effie Smith in Goldsboro NC and departed on December 16 2024 at Bellarose Rehab and Nursing Center in Garner NC. 

Michael  attended Dillard High School after which he moved to  Washington DC.  He worked at Greater Southeast Hospital as a Sterile Processing Technician for many years. He later moved to Raleigh NC  where he also worked as a Sterile Processing Technician  for Wake Medical Center and also UNC/Rex Hospital. Michael loved to play pool and the piano. He was musical inclined and could hear a song one time and them play it on the piano. He loved spending time with family and friends. He was always the life of room making everyone laugh. 

Michael was preceded in death by his parents Glennie and Effie Smith, his Daugther Nancy Diane Exum, brothers: Jerry Clark Smith, Edward Lee Best, sister Dorothy Loree Best. 

He leaves to cherish his daughters: Felicia Thompson and Joyce Ann Taylor (Kenneth) of Goldsboro NC, sister Renetta Yvonne Carlton of Raleigh NC. Grandkids, nieces and nephews and a very special cousin Sherwin Green and a host of other family and friends.
