Miriam Sharie Thigpen was born on September 1, 1975 in Goldsboro NC at Wayne Memorial to Janice Marie Jones. She transitioned on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
Miriam also known as “Cookie” was raised in Wayne County. She attended Wayne County Public Schools. She previously worked at Fremont Rest Center in Fremont NC. She worked at Wrangler Jean Company of Wilson NC as well as Alliance One of Wilson NC.
Miriam loved her family, she loved to sing and dance to music in her younger years. Her favorite artists were Mary J. Blige and R. Kelly. She loved to play hopscotch and double dutch with her friends and brothers. She loved cooking, laughing, joking, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceding Miriam in death is her grandmother Katherine “Katie” Yelverton and her grandfather George Thigpen Sr. and her three uncle’s George Thigpen, Oscar Thigpen and James Thigpen.
Lasting and loving memories will be cherished by her beloved daughter Tiffany Daniels (Josh) of LaGrange, NC and her mother Janice M. Jones of Goldsboro, NC. Four grandchildren Zahmya Williams, Gabriel Williams, Zavion Wooten, and Diamond Wooten of LaGrange, NC. Three brothers Christopher Thigpen (Tarja) of Pikeville, NC, James D. Thigpen Sr. (Nekemia) of Mount Olive, NC, Andrew Thigpen of Fremont, NC. Four nieces Quinita Thigpen, Christina Thigpen, Ty’Ticheyonna Thigpen, and Nadia Jones. One nephew James Thigpen II. One great nephew Zaiden Hines. Three aunts Francis Williams, Levolia Thigpen, and Louise Thigpen of Goldsboro NC. Three uncles Connie Thigpen of Wilson NC, Larry Thigpen of Florida, Gary Thigpen of Wilmington NC. One great uncle Preston Yelverton of Bailey NC. One great aunt Essie Phillp of New York. A host of cousins and two special cousins Donald “Puddin” Thigpen of Goldsboro NC and Soisette Shue (Eddie) of Lucama NC. Three special friends Andrew Ward of Wilson NC, Jimmy Rivers of Pikeville NC, Darryl Johnson of Goldsboro NC and Kierra Alston as well as many other loving family members and devoted friends.
