Priscilla Robinson Best, 74, departed this life on Tuesday, October 1 at her residence in Goldsboro. Born to the late Luevonia B. Robinson and Rosell M. Robinson in Mount Olive, NC, she received her education in the public school system of Wayne County graduating from Central High School in 1963. Priscilla earned the Bachelor of Arts degree from North Carolina Central University, and the Masters of Library Science degree from East Carolina University. After working for more than 30 years as a teacher and library media coordinator, Priscilla retired in 2001. She continued to use her training and educational experiences to produce storytelling programs and workshops and came to be known as the Heart to Heart Storyteller.
She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life two children: daughter Staris (Clifton) Powell of Butner, son David (Mildrianne) Best, Jr. of Durham, twelve grandchildren: Jasmine, Kayla, Devin, Christian, Christina, Jermein, Maya, Caiden, Cayla, Jamison, Jesica, and Brook; three sisters: Gloristeen Isler, Carolyn (John) Cox, and Chris (Larry) Johnson; five brothers: Roselle (Alice), Jackie, Donald, Michael (Felicia), and James (Elaine); one sister -in-law: Bebra Robinson; three aunts: Joyce Broadhurst, Jane Broadhurst, and Louise Cockfield; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
