Ray Junius Williams Sr.

Mr. Ray Junius Williams Sr., son of the late Barnice and Charity Jones Williams was born in the Buckleberry Community of Lenoir County, NC on April 2, 1927. He departed this life on August 24, 2021 at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. He attended Wayne County Schools and at a young age joined Bible Way Holiness Church #2 in Goldsboro, NC. He sang and ministered with various quartets and sang solos in many church events and functions. He was married to Catherine Hines Williams, whom preceded him in death along with two sons David Marcellus and Richard Allen; three brothers Emmitt, Bernald and Mathis Williams; five sisters Lillie Mae Hardy, Adel Lofton, Bernice Royal, Doris Bolden and Bertha Mae Roy. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons Ray (Sandra) Williams, Jr. of Goldsboro, NC and David Broadie of Atlanta, GA; five daughters Dorothy Jean Nabors and Maye Broadie of Goldsboro, NC, Larice Holloway of Atlanta, GA, Mona Lisa Broadie of Durham, NC and Dorothy (Ross) Jackson of Greensboro, NC, with whom he lived and was provided care until his transitioning; one brother Johnnie Williams; two sisters Juanita Pearsall of Philadelphia, PA and Dorothy Langston of Goldsboro, NC; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
