Richard Carter Christian III
On May 11, 2020 Richard Carter Christian III peacefully left his earthly vessel to ascend into heaven. He was surrounded by his family at his home with his lovely wife by his side as he took his last breath.
Richard favorably known as "Dickey" or "Pop-pop" was born on September 26, 1942 in New York City, New York. He graduated from High School in 1959 from Voorhees High School and Junior College in Denmark, South Carolina. He attended the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire. He held a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Science.
Richard worked for thirty-five years as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of North Carolina. Working in this capacity was his calling, passion, and mission.
Mr. Christian leaves to treasure his legacy his loving and devoted wife of over fifty-four years Mrs. Betty Jean Christian, son Bruce McFadden Christian (Lizanne), daughter Tasha Christian Adams, and Richard (Ricky) Carter Christian IV two grandsons Bruce Christian II and Christopher Scott Adams (his best friend), one granddaughter Tina Young, ten great grandchildren a host of cousins, nieces and nephews great nieces and nephews as well as a host of special family friends.
