Robert Alexander Ooten Jr.

On Friday, December 1, 2023 God sent his angels to escort “Gabby” affectionately known by his family and friends, to his place of rest. Gabby was the third child born to the late Inez Moses Ooten Malone and the late Robert A. Ooten on November 30, 1948.

Gabby attended Wayne County Public Schools.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jerry and David Ooten and his sister Joyce Smith.

Gabby lived a simple life. His last employment was SJAFB, Goldsboro, NC. He was a musician who loved to sing and also loved to play the drums. He also enjoyed sports and was an avid fisher.

Gabby leaves behind to cherish his memories a son Robert Alexander Ooten III; brother Douglas (Cheryl) of Dudley, NC; one aunt Edna McFarland of Goldsboro, NC; one uncle Walter Howard Jones of Dudley, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; a very special cousin Sandra McFarland of Goldsboro and friends.
