Sammy Jackson, 76, passed away Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at Willows creek rehabilitation and nursing home in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Sammy was born November 2, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama to Ms. Clara Jackson. He was the youngest of 4 children. At the age of 14 Sammy joined the military convincing officials he was of age(16) to do so. He was shortly released once officials discovered he was underage, but he was given an opportunity of being able to decide where he liked the military to transport him. His request was to go to New York City.
Sammy arrived in New York City and never looked back. His entrepreneur mentality pushed him to be successful in anything he set out to do. He resided in Brooklyn, NY all of his life and was loved by many. Sammy was a well-respected staple member of his community. He was always there to be of help and service to those he loved. Sammy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Kung-Fu films, basketball, and he had a love for cars like no other. Sammy relocated to Goldsboro, NC in 2014 to live out the rest of his days with his significant other Ms. Lee Bennett.
Sammy Jackson is survived by his two sons Larrell Fennell of Maryland, Kenyatta Stackhouse of North Carolina, his three daughters Talina Merritt of New York, Yavanna Davis of North Carolina, and Christina Merritt of New York along with a host of grand and great grandchildren.
