Thedwood Rudolph Sherard, Jr. better known as Rudy, was born January 17, 1960, to the late Thedwood Rudolph Sherard, Sr. and Florice Russell Lane.
Rudy attended Wayne County Public schools his elementary years, but was a graduate of James Monroe High School in Bronx, NY class of 1978. In 1983, Rudy married Rose Mary Jacobs and they were married for 33 years until she transitioned in 2016. He was a retiree of Cooper Standard after 30 years of service.
Rudy was a man of fashion, cars and traveling the interstate. Many people knew if you were in the market to find a car that he would be able to give you the pros and cons of any vehicle. He would also inform you of what type of treatments that were good to prolong the life of your car. He often referred to traveling as him needing to “smell some gasoline.” It’s safe to say, cars and driving the interstate were his passions.
Rudy was a people person; He never met a stranger. He loved to talk junk and if you ever had laughable moment around him, he would not let you forget it. His comedic relief was comparable to none. His laugh was infectious and if he ever got to howling or barking, you would know that he was having a great time. While Rudy was in UNC Wayne, he did rededicate his life to the Most High God, so we know that he is resting in His everlasting arms.
Rudy was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary, his Father, Thedwood Sherard, Sr., his Mother, Florice Lane and his granddaughter, Janae' Anderson.
Rudy leaves to cherish his memories; Two daughters: Temonio Anderson (John) Murfreesboro, TN, Ashley Sherard (Brandon Weeks) of the home, one son: Parker Sherard (Nikita) Goldsboro, NC.
