Valerie C. Williams

Valerie was a kind and caring woman with a very gentle and sweet spirit. To know her was to love her. Valerie departed this life on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

Valerie Cassie Williams was born March 11, 1964 in Sampson County, NC to the late Elma Ruth Parker Cain.

Valerie graduated from Lakewood High School in Sampson County on June 4, 1982. She received her Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from Fayetteville State University in 1999.

Valerie was a Registered Nurse for 37 years and loved working in labor and delivery as a stork nurse giving mom and baby care. She loved babies. Valerie received several awards throughout her career showing just how much of a good and caring nurse she was. She retired in June of 2020 from Cape Fear Valley Health Hospital. 

On January 4, 2017, Valerie married the love of her life, Eddie B. Williams, Jr. She enjoyed fishing and playing slots at the casinos. Most of all, she enjoyed making her husband happy. Valerie was a good wife and mother.

Valerie leaves to cherish her memories and smile, her husband, Eddie B. Williams, Jr;  daughter, Jasmine Michelle Upshaw;  two Sisters, Jamezetta (Jacob) Bellinger of Estill, SC, and Latreesha (Kevin) Register of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Clarence Cain Jr. of California, a mother in-law, Alverta Young; three sisters-in-law, Imogene (Russell) Waters of Stantonsburg, NC, Alesia (Alfonza) Britt of Fuquay Varina, NC, and Etta (Cornelius) Warren of Stantonsburg, NC; a very special Aunt, Rose Parker aka Aunt Nique; and a host of nephews, nieces, family, and friends. Valerie was preceded in death by her mother, Elma Ruth Parker Cain, and brother, Kenny Rue McCorkle.
