William Rodney Deans was born on September 29, 1958 to William Henry Deans and Lorice Judy Deans. He departed this life on August 19, 2024 at ECU Health Medical Center at 11:39pm.
He was born in Goldsboro, NC and raised in Baltimore, MD. William faced adversities at a young age but he was able to overcome those challenges. He was unstoppable. He did everything he put his mind to including track, basketball, baseball, and other extracurricular activities . He has a huge family. He was preceded in death by two siblings; Bruce Deans and Lorita Claridy. He leaves to cherish his memories to 8 siblings; 3 sisters (Bonita Perry, Charita Moore, and Jevita Earl) & 5 brothers (Jhonnie Sherrod, Ronnie Deans, Jimmy Ray Deans, Billy Deans, and Kevin Deans). He loves his family so much and would do anything for them. If he was able to help you he would help with no questions asked. He got married on June 21, 1997 to Zandra Ringgold. Zandra had a 13 year old son (Quentin Stepney). William loved her son like he was his own. On August 12, 1998, they had a baby girl. His only daughter (Jordan Deans). He and his family moved back to Goldsboro, NC from Baltimore, MD in 2009 where they currently reside. His uncle Ray Deans and Aunt Linda Deans were a great help with their transition moving back to North Carolina. They have always been a great help in a time of need.
William was a cancer survivor. He was a brave, kind, funny, and a loving man. He was a member of The Lord’s Table Church. Where he enjoyed ushering and serving the church. He loved to bowl, sing, cook, and draw. He could bowl a perfect game. He sang amazingly. He made the best soul food. His realistic drawing was beautiful. He loved to watch movies and tv shows. He had over 200 DVDs in his collection. He always knew how to make someone smile and laugh. His motto was “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” William will truly be missed by his family and friends.
