Winfred G. Coley

Winfred "Gerald" Coley was born on April 6, 1963 and departed this life on Sunday, February 4, 2024. His parents were the late Lonnie Coley Sr. and Bertha Lee Edwards Coley. Gerald was born in Wayne County and spent his entire life here. He graduated from Eastern Wayne High School and was the youngest of nine children. Gerald enjoyed the outdoors and spent many years working on the Johnnie Best Family Farm. His bicycle took him to the corner store and other places that he wanted to go. Gerald didn't talk much, but he got his point across. Gerald was preceded in death by his siblings Bertha Ellen, Dorothy Mae Coley, Lonnie W. Coley Jr, Frances Coley and Leon Coley. Gerald will be missed here on earth, but we know he has been reunited with his parents and siblings. Those left to cherish his memories are brother, Morris Lee Coley, his care giver of the home; brother David Lee Coley of Goldsboro; sister Wanda Coley Harris (Michael) of Madison, NC; a special sister-in-law, Vivian Coley of Goldsboro; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
